Danny Kenny RIP

(02 Aug 2017)

By Vincent Butler

It is with great sorrow that we have heard of the death of Danny Kenny.

Danny was a very prominent Manager/Coach with Belvedere Football Club for many years and particularly in the 1990's and early 2000's.

He was a dedicated, experienced Manager,

who was of great help and support to the players in his care.

Together with Eddie Moen, he ran one of the best ever teams to come through the Club.

This team included nine players who played underage International football for Ireland and eight of these signed for professional clubs in England.

Danny had great connections with the club, his two sons Jason and Andy were very capable goalkeepers on two other Belvedere teams and his brother, Tommy was also a very successful Manager/Coach with many other Belvedere sides and was recently one of our Directors Of Coachng.

Danny suffered very bravely and with great dignity for a number of years, against a very serious illness but unfortunately he passed away on Tuesday.

On behalf everyone at Belvedere, I would like to offer sincere sympathy to his wife Marie, his sons Jason and Andy, his brother Tommy and the other members of his extended family.

A Celebration of Danny's life will be held in the Glasnevin Crematorium Church tomorrow Thursday 3rd August at 2.30.

All are welcome to attend, family flowers only and donations if desired to St.Francis Hospice, Raheny.

May Danny Rest In Peace.
